How do you choose what goes into the box each week?

Every week we look at what is plentiful and fairly priced on the market, then pick the best options for our customers. Our goal is simple. We want fresh food to feel accessible, which means finding fruits and veggies that taste great and do not stretch anyone’s budget.

How do you decide the quantities for each size of box?

We follow serving sizes based on the Ontario food guide and build each box around what an adult is likely to use in a week. For example, a serving of apple is one hundred and eighty grams, so we aim for two servings per person. You will never receive less. You might receive more if something is especially abundant that week. You can always check the This Weeks Box page to see what is coming. Where does the produce come from each week?

Our logistics lead shops for us every week, choosing produce from farmers and trusted distributors. Everything that goes into the boxes is bought with care and attention.

What if I miss an item in my box?

Mistakes happen, especially while we are learning. Email us and we will make it right. We treat missing items the same way we treat damaged items. You never lose out.

Do you donate produce that cannot go into boxes?

We plan tightly so we never overbuy. Orders close on Sunday at midnight, inventory happens on Monday and we buy and pack on Tuesday. Everything we purchase is chosen for a purpose, which keeps waste low and quality high.

For every 15 boxes sold though we do donate a box to our local food bank.

Can I tell you what I do not want in my box?

Yes, please. You can request two swaps every week. We want you to love what you receive and avoid food waste. If you have allergies or produce that you truly never want to see again, let us know and we will keep it out of your box.

Can I request extras or add-ons?

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

When do you deliver?

Deliveries are on Tuesday for now. If your schedule is tricky, tell us. We will try our best to accomodate!

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is always free on all our boxes!

What happens if I do not receive my box on delivery day?

Not yet. We want to introduce extras once our weekly flow is a little smoother. We are still working through a few early kinks, although we love hearing what you want. If you have ideas for new services or fun add-ons, tell us. We are growing and building every day.

What happens if an item arrives damaged?

Send us a quick photo at thekindestproduce@gmail.com and we will make it right, either in the current week or the next one. Our produce is often surplus, so it can look a little quirky from time to time, although it is always fresh and good quality.

If I want to pause, skip or change my box, how do I do that?

Log in to your account, open your orders and choose to pause, skip or change your box for the week. It takes only a moment.
